<p>Making the screen cast was simple. I just started the application, selected the screen area to record, pressed record and went to work. After recording the screen cast can be:<br />
1) Posted as a link from a Twitter post.<br />
2) Uploaded to YoutTube.<br />
3) Downloaded as an MP4 that I can insert into an Articulate Presenter movie or Articulate Engage Interaction<br />
4) Embedded into a blog post. </p>
<p>If you are not making screen casts for training and elearning because it is too complex you need to try ScreenR from Articulate. It is Easy Button Easy.</p>

EPS411 worked with EPC subject matter experts to adapt existing content, write a lesson script for professional voice talent, graphic and slide design, and convert static content to interactive Flash learning objects. EPS team members also staged and shot many of the photos of pediatric assessment and treatment used in the 10 lesson series.</p>

You can view the updates of the people and organization your follow in a time line. Tweets, the 140 character messages, can take many forms &#8211; announcements, reminders, links, resources, questions.</p>
<p>Some of the ideas I have for using twitter for patient notification and patient monitoring include:</p>
<ol>
<li>daily blood sugar check for diabetic patients</li>
<li>daily blood pressure check for hypertension patients</li>
<li>daily weight check for congestive heart failure patients</li>
<li>remind cardiac rehab patients to do simple strength and cardio exercises</li>
<li>remind any type of patients to take medications</li>
<li>remind any type of patients to eat well and exercise</li>
</ol>
<p>A healthcare provider could follow a patient&#8217;s daily data by using protected updates. A software programmer could probably use the Twitter API to create a patient log based on tweet content and hashtags.</p>
<p>Reminding and helping patients control their chronic health problems can reduce the need for non-emergent and emergent medical transport. Help me build this list by adding your ideas for using Twitter for patient notification in the comments area.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Safe Schools Week begins on October 19. The one week period encourages schools to collaborate with community emergency response organizations to implement activities, educational programs, and initiatives to celebrate and improve school safety.</p>
<p>About two weeks ago I received an email from the Wisconsin School Crisis Committee announcing Safe Schools week. The email had several attachments that included a proclamation from the Governor, a poster, project ideas, and funding resources.</p>
<p>I used an <a title="Articulate.com" href="http://www.articulate.com" target="_blank">Articulate</a> Engage Interaction to organize the materials. The Tabs interaction was published for the web and uploaded to <a title="EPS411.com" href="http://eps411.com" target="_self">EPS411.com</a>. Below is a screen shot that is hyperlinked to the interaction. An interaction like this could be a stand alone content item to organize related information or it could be integrated into an online education lesson. We have used Tab interactions for multiple choice questions, pharmacology review cards, and illness symptoms.</p>
