Social Media Responder 2009 Contest – Voting is Open

Voting is now open in the PIOSocialMediaTraining.com contest for the social media responder of 2009. The six finalists are people, organizations, and projects that are using social media to effectively accomplish their mission. The finalists were chosen by a panel of judges from more than thirty nominees. In addition to voting make sure you take a few minutes to view the great work each of the finalists is doing with social media tools. Truly inspirational.

The finalists are:

  • Montgomery County Fire and Rescue
  • Charlotte Fire Department
  • Chronicles of EMS
  • Los Angeles Fire Department
  • Eric Neitzel
  • Bellevue Police Department

Go Vote! You can cast one vote per day between now and December 29, 2009. While you are there enroll in the Social Media Boot Camp email training program. A one-of-a-kind training program for PIOs, Incident Commanders, ICS staff, and any emergency responder about how to start and use social media tools and networks before, during, and after any major incident.
