World AIDS Day
Today (December 1, 2009) is World AIDS Day. The purpose of this day is to draw attention to the global HIV/AIDS pandemic. Many EMTs and Paramedics have a regular continuing education requirement to learn about HIV/AIDS symptoms, transmission, prevention, and treatment. This requirement is often above and beyond annual bloodborne pathogens training.
To learn more visit the CDC World Aids day website.
EPS411.com has produced a three part lesson series on HIV/AIDS that is available to CentreLearn and RapidCE.com users. The lessons meet the Florida requirements for EMT training on HIV/AIDS. For assistance determining if it is applicable to your state CE requirements contact EPS. All EPS continuing education lessons are CECBEMS approved.
