Top 3 EMSEduCast Podcast Episodes from Season 1
EMSEduCast – the podcast by and for EMS Educators – has finished its first season with 29 episodes that are full of resources, teaching ideas, and insightful discussions of important EMS education issues. I am especially grateful to our guests that have helped make the show a growing success with more than 3500 weekly listeners. Some of our guests have included:
- Greg Margolis
- Chris Nolette
- Heather Davis
- David Page
- Chad Pore
- Jon Friesen
- Joseph Wiener, MD
- Mickey Eisenberg, MD
Looking back on our first 29 episodes these are three of my favorites:
Episode 27: How to Improve Survival from Sudden Cardiac Arrest.Dr. Mickey Eisenberg, medical director of King County EMS, discusses the role of educators in improving survival from sudden cardiac arrest. Dr. Eisenberg is author of the excellent book Resuscitate!: How Your Community Can Improve Survival from Sudden Cardiac Arrest
Episode 29: EMS Academy for Low Income Youth. David Page explains the efforts of St. Paul Fire Department and Inver Hills Community College to deliver EMT training to 25 low income youth in St. Paul as part of job training program. It is a great story of passion and compassion.
Episode 9: We are all Paramedics. Co-host Rob Theriault outlines the Canadian system for paramedic education. There are not EMTs in Canada – only paramedics. The system is sensible and elevates paramedics as a professional equal to police officers and firefighters.
