Combitube Insertion Video
Earlier this week I went to the Advanced Professional Healthcare Education training center to shoot photos and videos for an upcoming lesson on use of non-visualized airways (Combitube, King LT, and LMA). After shooting a few hundred photos we video taped insertion of each type of airway.
This video of Combitube insertion was captured with a handheld Flip Video camera. Once the equipment was ready we shot the video in a single take, transferred the file to a laptop, uploaded to youtube, and added the simple annotation. This video has several potential e-learning uses.
1. integrate into a lesson as is. We could use either Articulate Engage, after converting to Flash, or as a Web Object in Articulate Presenter.
2. edit for specific clips for an e-learning lesson
3. direct students to view this and other airway videos online before attending an in-person skills session.
